It seems like a lot of people lately have been asking about simple activities for kids at home, and not simply window shopping on the weekends. Listed here are seven fun and easy craft projects you can do with your child at home. I hope you and your child have a great time doing these activities together at home!

Egg painting

Eggshell is all you need to get started with egg painting. Make a small hole in the top of an egg and remove the yolk and white without breaking it. This will allow you to save the shell for later use. Allow your children to experiment with a variety of egg painting techniques by preserving as many egg shells as you can. If your children are comfortable with it, it is possible to use coloring media, such as watercolor, acrylic, poster color, crayon or even color pencils.

Origami

Origami is an incredibly impressive project for you to practice with your kids at home. If you do an internet search for "origami diagram," you'll come across countless web pages offering free diagrams and step-by-step instructions. Basic mathematical concepts like forms, angels, numbers, and sequence can be taught to youngsters through the art of origami.

Mosaics made of paper

Another fun hobby that I enjoy doing with my kids is mosaic art. You'll need two to three sheets of colored construction paper, a drawing block, some PVA glue, and either a color pencil watercolor to complete this project.

Self-Portrait

Creation of self-portraits are yet another favorite activity of pretty much all the children. You'll need an A4-sized drawing board, a pencil for your youngster to create their own self-portraits, and some stickers to decorate the finished product. Ask the children to sign it once it's finished!

Making photo albums for the whole family

Another fun hobby to do with your youngster is scrapbooking. Scrapbooking vacation photos with the family is the simplest option. This is accomplished by gathering all of the images taken throughout the trip, arranging them in chronological order, and then adding a few lines to summarize the events of the journey. Finally, add some eye-catching accents to the scrapbooking design.

The above is just a small list of DIY crafts you can do with your family (particularly with your little ones). There are many other projects you can do and they can be found online if you perform a search.

To accomplish a successful DIY project, you will need some essentials. Some of the items are available in your house (kitchen, basement, storeroom, study room, office room etc., for instance). However, to make it a perfect project and accomplish the desired results, you may have to buy some arts and crafts supplies as well. The good news is that these supplies are very affordable. Also, you can purchase such products online and get them delivered to your doorstep. So, shopping for arts and crafts supplies has become a matter of a couple of mouse clicks or taps on your mobile phone.
